Our dog daycare is conveniently located in the central/downtown Ottawa area. With over 1500 square feet of indoor and outdoor play space, your dogs will love visiting our doggy daycare. Dogs are in a group, averaging 8-12, and are free to roam throughout the inside and backyard space via doggy door.
The dogs have access to a secure, fully fenced outdoor area for bathroom and playtime. They are supervised by experienced daycare staff, as well as monitered by grooming staff inside via surveillance cameras. With regular attendance, your furry friend will stay sociable and active; in turn, you will have a happy and calmer dog at home!
We welcome our feline friends to our newly renovated cat boarding facility! This modern cattery was renovated in 2022 to accommodate your fanciest felines! Keeping the original layout of the cat boarding facility, cats are still welcome to come mingle in the communal cat room. We have toys, hiding spots, beds, shelves, and cat trees to keep your cat stimulated, socialized and happy. They will also receive plenty of love and cuddles from our staff during our regular visits to the cattery. We also still provide condos for cats that would prefer not to be in direct contact with other cats, and have added luxury suites perfect for your pampered pet, or a feline family wanting to stay together, yet separated from the other cats.
Our grooming section opened over 15 years ago, in 2003. The salon was moved to a new, much larger location on Hawthorne Avenue in 2014. We took that opportunity to update our equipment and grooming tools. One of our goals is provide high quality grooming standards. There is a certified master groomer on site to answer your questions. We groom both cats and dogs, and even do nail trims for small pets such as rabbits and guinea pigs! We believe that all pets deserve the best.
To keep your furry friend at their healthy best, grooming is in order... and your groomer is there to help you determine your pet’s individual grooming needs.
We have developed an expertise in cat grooming. We offer a relaxed and attentive atmosphere for each of our feline friend. We specialize in cats and we are very good at what we do.
With over 1500 sq ft of indoor and outdoor play space your dogs will love visiting Furry Friends Spa & Daycare's doggy daycare.

The grooming options available to each cat will be determined by a number of factors. These include, but are not limited to the cat’s condition, age, temperament, coat type, and breed, as well as the preferences of the individual owners. Once we see your cat in person, we can better determine what choices are available.
When you will bring your cat at our salon, a groomer will meet you and assess your cat:
Following that initial evaluation, the groomer will explain to you the different grooming options available for your cat according to your specific needs. Below are the grooming packages and add-on services that Furry Friends Spa & Daycare is offering:
Full Groom for long and short haired cat: includes sanitary clip, detangle, deshedding, nail trim, ear cleaning, face and eye cleaning, bath, blow dry.
Lion Clip: Most popular style is the lion clip where the body of the cat is shaved, leaving the head, mane, boots and tail. Lion clip are done for a variety of reasons. Many times, if the cat is severely matted, the only remedy is to shave off the damaged coat. At other time, a cat is given a lion cut to make it cooler or to cut down on shedding and hairballs. Often, it is done simply because the cat seems happier when it is not wearing its heavy coat.
Comb-cut: A comb-cut is actually a longer lion cut. It is a good solution if you donʼt want your cat shave but clipped. The length can be anywhere between 3/8 to 1 inch. This option is only available to none matted cats.
Nail trim: cat claws are extremely effective weapons and therefore dangerous. They should be trimmed as short as possible to avoid injury.
*Nail trims are added to all services mentionned for the well being of the cat, and safety of our groomers.
Sanitary Clip: Long hair breeds as well as obese or elderly cats often have a difficult time keeping their hygenic areas clean when they use the litter pan. Keeping this area shaved will alleviate this problem. Also, this can keep the area mat-free.
Belly Shave: Many long hair cats have a tendancy to mat on the belly. If this is the case, a belly shave will be necessary, since it is too sensitive of an area to de-mat. The owner may also request a belly shaved to keep the cat neater, cleaner, and cooler.
Bath: It is the most vital part of the grooming process. Because cats have greasy skin and coat, the bath is needed to produce a clean finish. The coat will also stay mat-free for several weeks without having to worry about it.
Soft Claws: are nail caps designed for cats to save your furniture and floors from damage. These are a good option for cats that are more destructive scratchers. First, we trim the nails, then, we apply a surgical glue and a plastic caps over top. They usually last up to 6 weeks.
Toe tuft trim: Toe tufts are longer hairs growing on the bottom of the feet in between the paw pads. There are times that the owner might request that the toe tufts be trimmed especially if they track the litter box pan. This can be done with a small clipper on request only.
Ear cleaning: Eliminate odors and help to prevent ear infections. A natural ear cleaning solution designed for the feline is used.
Face and Eye cleaning: A must after the bath.

If you answered YES to any of the above, then a professional cat groomer is just what you need! At Furry Friends Spa & Daycare we can take care of all of these problems and more! One of our focus is on cat grooming, we offer a relaxed and attentive atmosphere for each of our feline friend. We specialize in cats and we are very good at what we do.
Most people think that cats groom themselves, but in reality, cats lick themselves. Grooming and licking are two entirely different things. When a cat licks itself, he covers himself with saliva mixed with dander. Nothing is done during the licking process to relieve a cat's tangles, mats, fleas, dandruff, skin conditions, and unsanitary things hanging from its hindquarters. Remember a cat sleeps on the sofa or curls up on the very pillow you lay your head on at night.
At Furry Friends Spa & Daycare we actually groom them. We use the best products, high quality tools, and advanced techniques to remove tangles and mats, degrease coats, remove excess shedding, clean up dirty hindquarters, trim nails, neaten up overgrown faces, and fix any other problems that a cat may have that cannot be fixed by licking alone. In the end, you end up with a clean cat that looks and feels better than you ever thought possible.
We are professional cat groomers and know our stuff! Chantal has received training from the National Cat Groomers Institute of America, Inc. and obtained her Certified Feline Master Groomer certification after passing a total of nine exams that include both in-depth written exams and actual hands-on, practical exams.
We are here to transform your cat life by making his or her life cleaner and healthier. We are here to make your cat look and feel better and do it in the safest and most efficient way possible. After all, a groomed cat is a happy cat. And the people who get to live with them will be happier too!
